The Cooke Center for Learning and Development is now the largest private provider of school-based special education services in New York City. When the Cooke Center began nearly 20 years ago, it needed to broaden its base of individual supporters and increase public awareness of its work. Given the opportunity to host the world premiere of the film ?In The Spirit,? with only two months to organize the project, the foundation turned to Cause Effective. We helped plan and execute a special events program, including the ?In The Spirit? premiere and a reception with stars of ABC-TV?s ?Life Goes On.? We also enlisted top advertising executives to produce a video to capture the event for future development efforts. The video alone represented $100,000 worth of donated services. The foundation netted over $110,000 with less than $25,000 in costs, added over 200 new contributors to its list, and received national publicity and media exposure.
