Nyisha Howell, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Foundation Relations at York College and the York College Foundation
Nyisha Howell is the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Foundation Relations at York College and the York College Foundation. Prior to her current role, she spent six years as Chief of Staff to the Interim Vice Chancellor for University Advancement at CUNY. When she joined CUNY in 2014, she never expected her position within the higher education sector would give her so many opportunities to contribute to organizational and cultural transformation. Quickly gaining a reputation for "getting things done," Nyisha has been instrumental in developing and managing programs that promote diversity and inclusion and create career advancement and leadership development opportunities for thousands of students, faculty, and administrators. As a master connector who is driven to manage critical change and strategic objectives, Nyisha builds partnerships with private and public institutions, contributes to donor stewardship and fundraising, and institutes process improvements and modern technologies to boost productivity and employee engagement. Nyisha serves as the Chair of the governance committee board for Queens County Farm Museum and advisory board member on the CUNY Arts/Cultural Corps committee. Nyisha, a Coro Leadership New York alum, holds a B.A. in Sociology from the College of New Rochelle, an M.B.A. in Marketing from Nyack College. By August 2021, she will have completed a Doctorate of Education in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College.
