Elton Taylor, Jr. joined Cause Effective in 2022 as our first Director of Philanthropic Engagement to lead Cause Effective's fundraising and communications efforts. Prior to assuming this role, the Greater New Orleans-area native has enjoyed a respected 15-year career furthering local and national nonprofit organizations in reaching and engaging audiences around missions as varied as providing sanctuary to the nation's retired chimpanzee population, building a thriving business community in East Texas,and helping Dallas-area children overcome the lasting and traumatic effects of homelessness, With his work at Cause Effective, Elton aims to inspire in others the belief that an equitable world is achievable when nonprofits thrive.
In addition to receiving his undergraduate degree in communications from Loyola University New Orleans, Elton has earned the American Grant Writers Association's Certified Grant Writer (CGW) professional credential as well as completed the Executive Certificate in Fundraising curriculum at the University of Texas at Dallas and the Western Association of Chamber Executives' Academy for Chamber of Commerce Management. Over the years, he has been privileged to advance the work of these organizations: Chimp Haven, Inc. (Keithville, LA), The Longview (TX) Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Vogel Alcove (Dallas, TX), and The Center for Investigative Reporting (Emeryville, CA). Elton has also served as a strategic partner for Dallas, TX-based consulting firm The Henry Group.
