Meron Woldemariam

Meron Woldemariam, Senior Director of Development, Grand Street Settlement

For over a decade, Meron "Mimi" Woldemariam has created impactful and innovative programs for youth and communities of color in New York City. Her commitment is inspired in part by her parents who emigrated from Ethiopia over forty years ago. Despite significant language and cultural barriers, her parents attained job security and homeownership. Mimi believes that if she can work to remove similar barriers in underestimated communities, the possibilities are infinite. Her toolkit includes writing curriculums, influencing local policies, and implementing innovative youth programs. She attributes her professional growth to CRE's Leadership Caucus, UNH's Middle Manager's Program and Nonprofit New York's DEI Learning Lab. All which have helped prepare Mimi for her current transition from programs to Senior Director of Development at Grand Street Settlement.
