Mia Briones, Director of Major Gifts, Harlem Children’s Zone
Mia Briones is a development professional who is dedicated to raising funds and resources for causes related to human rights, social justice, and gender equality. She currently serves as Director of Major Gifts at Harlem Children’s Zone, where she leads the individual giving program. In addition to helping ensure the organization is fully resourced, she is passionate about creating inclusive and meaningful engagement opportunities for donors at all levels.Prior to joining Harlem Children’s Zone, Mia was the Senior Officer for Major Gifts at the International Rescue Committee, a global humanitarian aid and refugee resettlement organization. She holds a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. A proud native of Oakland, California, Mia has lived and worked in Mexico City, Cameroon, and Tanzania.
