Candace Wright, Solar Youth
After a career in the fashion industry in New York City, Candace returned to the community she grew up in (Westville Manor) to focus on her passion - engaging and mentoring youth. She was hired by Solar Youth 2009 as Operations Manager. Her role has evolved over the last 12 years, and she is now our Operations Director and a critical member of the leadership team. In addition, she is a board member of ArtEcon Initiative, a nonprofit bringing enriching programming to Westville-West Rock Community. She is also an alumnus of Community Leadership Program (CLP). Candace’s personal mission is to continue to serve the disenfranchised in her community no matter what. As of June 2021, Candace has been promoted to Interim Executive Director of Solar Youth, Inc.
