Andy Aujla, Director of Advocacy and External Affairs with Communities Resist (CoRe)

Andy Aujla is the Director of Advocacy and External Affairs with Communities Resist (CoRe), a new legal services organization serving low-income tenant associations in affirmative litigation against predatory landlords throughout Brooklyn and Queens.  CoRe specifically serves the most vulnerable communities and provides linguistically and culturally accessible services. In addition to legal services, CoRe performs significant community outreach and education, such as recent workshops on tenants’ rights and the new COVID related eviction moratorium.

Andy is a seasoned attorney and community activist, having previously worked as a Senior Counsel for a New York City agency following several successful years litigating with private law firms.  Andy earned a B.A. in philosophy, politics and law from Binghamton University; a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law; and an LL.M from American University, Washington College of Law.  In addition to his work with CoRe, Andy currently serves on the executive board of Queens Community Board 1 and has previously served on the executive board of other community-based organizations.
