Devin Niecy, Director of Programs, Marsha P. Johnson Institute
For the past 15 years, Devin has been positively consumed with understanding how the intersections of his identity have impacted his life for the better. While navigating tough social systems Devin, a Black, trans, and queer man, has developed a keen sense of awareness and a critical consciousness that motivates him to express and advocate for himself and others. Devin, in the past, founded and developed his own practice and brands to support and empower the liberation of Black trans and queer folx, as they navigate their minds, bodies, and social experiences. Devin has created and cultivated space within nonprofit and larger institutions for communities to see themselves represented while advocating for the redistribution of resources back into Black and trans communities. Devin received his Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and specialized in LGBTQ+ disenfranchised grief, loss, and complex trauma. Devin holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in photography and enjoys traveling, sharing space with the community, and pure unadulterated joy!"
