Marterra Walker, Managing Director of Administration, The Bronx Defenders
Marterra started her journey at The Bronx Defenders as a Team Administrator. In the intervening decade, she rose to the role of Managing Director of Administration. Always seeing connectedness and opportunities for creating order where others see disconnect and disorder, Marterra has excelled in creating various systems to support her administrative team and colleagues in their work. She has always had an unwavering commitment to social justice and the work of uplifting impoverished communities, which is what has led her to work at this incredible organization. Her extensive administrative background and commitment to furthering the Bronx Defender’s mission is her passion. She holds a degree in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Law and Due Process from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
